Google Cloud ID Required for Hackathon Submission (Even Though API Key Used?)
I'm working on my submission for the Hackathon and I'm at the stage where I need to submit my project. However, I'm encountering a hurdle in the submission process.
The submission form requires a Google Cloud ID. From the guides in the 'Resources' tab, an API key obtained from AI Studio (which I have) should be sufficient for development. I have built my project locally using the official library provided by Google to interact with the Gemini API ("@google/generative-ai" dependency). During development, I did not encounter or use anything related to Google Cloud Platform services.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is a Google Cloud ID truly required even though the project doesn't rely on Google Cloud Platform services?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You

Hello, as part of the rules you must create a project and use GCP services so that your project can be validated by the judges. Therefore, try to do the following: create a project in GCP, and use whatever name you want. Next, head to Google AI Studio and generate a new API Key for the model you are using. When you go to generate the new API Key make sure to select the name of the project you created in GCP. If you have never created a project in GCP then you will have to create a GCP account. For this you can use your Gmail email.

When you make an API key, it should create a Cloud ID in Google Cloud Console on your behalf. Go to cloud console and copy that ID for us.
