No access to Google AI Studio prohibits participation?

As Google AI Studio is not available in the nordics (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland) I take it there is no way to participate if you're located in any of those countries, seeing as the first recommended To-do on the start page of this Hackathon is to Signup for your API key with Google AI Studio. Would that be correct?

It does not seem available for Europe altogether. The is confusing as the hackathon description states that it is allowed for "All countries/territories, excluding standard exceptions" plus "Italy". Some clarification would be appreciated indeed.

    Hi there,

The hackathon is open to regions where the Gemini API is available. This link can be found in the rules as well as here: https://ai.google.dev/available_regions

If you are in a region where the AI Studio is not available you would not be eligible to participate in the hackathon. If you have further questions, please let us know. We hope to include you in a competition soon!

Vertex AI is also a valid platform that provides access to the Gemini API, and it is open to regions in Europe.

Hi, I'm a bit confused about this. So will you be disqualified if you use Gemini through Vertex AI when you are not located in the regions from the link where AI Studio/Gemini API is available?

I am also interested. Since Gemini API through Google AI Studio is NOT available anywhere in Europe, does this mean Europeans are not allowed to compete? Note here that Vertex AI (to my understanding) is available in Europe.
